La Misión de La Purísima Concepción de la Santísima Virgen María, or The Mission of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary
Mission La Purisima is located in Lompoc, California. It is a beautiful landmark of Catholicity. The Franciscans arrived here ahead of the antichrist Protestants and were able to establish the faith here before the poison of false doctrine reached the Pacific shore. It is now owned and preserved by the State of California. An earthquake on December 21, 1812, severely damaged the original mission buildings. New buildings were constructed four miles east of the pueblo at their present location. This is the second site where the Catholic missionaries converted and worked with the Chumash Indians. Spending time at the La Purisima Mission brings joy to the soul as it tours this monument of Catholicity from the days before the shepherd was struck and the sheep were scattered.
